Artist Statement

My work focuses on what it is like to live as an introvert in an extroverted world. I extend this viewpoint through my lens by rendering my subjects as they undergo various physical metamorphoses, like melting, peeling, and cracking. I pair this narrative with the manipulation of visual perspective, color, shape, and texture to further convey the sentiments that take place in each piece. This ongoing series navigates me through a world of social challenges as a wallflower trying to break out of their shell.
