Artist Statement

My work focuses on what it is like to live as an introvert in an extroverted world. I illustrate this theme through my lens by rendering my subjects, who are usually variations of myself, as they undergo physical metamorphoses during seemingly solitary moments. I pair this narrative with the manipulation of visual perspective, color, shape, and texture to further convey the sentiments in each piece. This ongoing series navigates me through a world of social challenges as a wallflower trying to break out of my shell.
